Garden Through the Seasons
Join Gardener Amanda Clark every Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until noon to prune, dig, tag plants, scout bugs and mulch. Meet Amanda at the Water Sculpture in Blount Plaza at 9:30 a.m. Dress appropriately. Wear gloves and bring your pruning shears!
Garden Workdays
Join Kaul Wildflower Garden Curator John Manion for volunteer workdays in the Kaul Wildflower Garden, Barber Alabama Woodlands and the Bog Garden. Read John's newsletter, Botanically Speaking, to learn more or write John for more information at jmanion@bbgardens.org.
Greenhouse Assistant
Propagate plants for our Spring and Fall plant sales or assist staff in maintaining select gardens!
Teach.
Horticultural Therapy
Assist our horticultural therapy specialist in guiding clients through propagating and maintaining plants, creating flower crafts and visiting other areas of The Gardens for social, emotional, cognitive or emotional therapy.
School Programs
Volunteer as an education docent and lead Discovery Field Trips for elementary school children. Teen volunteers are encouraged to assist our Children’s Summer Workshops instructors.
Tour Guide
Work as a docent, giving weekday tours of The Gardens for visiting groups from around the neighborhood, state or nation.
File.
Office Assistant
Assist with a variety of office tasks including copying, filing, data entry, class registrations, etc.
Library Assistant
Help patrons access library resources and assist at the circulation desk.
Party.
Special Events
Help us fund our educational programs and raise awareness of The Gardens and our various activities!
