As a Member of Birmingham Botanical Gardens, you share enthusiasm for plants and gardening with fellow members. Let's gather at The Gardens to swap plants and mingle all while expanding plant collections at the same time. Fred Spicer, Executive Director, will answer your questions or give advice to novice or experienced gardeners alike. Bring perennials, annuals, tropicals or seeds. Trade one for one and bring as many as you like. Just one of the many benefits of being involved as a Member of The Gardens!

“Seasonal Flower Bed Design”
Saturday, March 20 9 a.m. – Noon
Instructor: James Horton, Director of Horticulture, Birmingham Botanical Gardens
Ever planted a spring flower bed and ran short of plants or had the plants in front grow taller than plants in the back? This class will teach the tricks of the trade when it comes to designing and planting seasonal color beds in the landscape. Subject matter will include measuring your beds, soil preparation, calculating the number of plants, what to look for when buying plants, color combinations, groupings, and much more. Summer and winter seasonal color will be covered.
In a few hours you will be ready to design your own flower beds.

I am a member, can I bring my spouse?
Yes, those named on your membership card can attend a member class.
I am a member at Magnolia or above, do I need a voucher for my guest like in the past?
No, there is no longer a piece of paper you have to keep track of. Once you register yourself and your friend online or via phone, a staff member will update your record to reflect your remaining guest vouchers.
