Flicks Amongst The Flowers debuts on May 16, and in honor of Birmingham Botanical Gardens’ 50th anniversary, a film from its first decade will be shown in the Formal Garden in front of the newly renovated Conservatory for free. At 7:30 p.m., guests will watch the 1964 James Bond classic “Goldfinger,” while Kathy G. and Company will provide a unique, themed menu available for purchase. “Gold Dust” Truffle Popcorn, Homemade Parmesean Potato Chips, a unique take on the Cuban sandwich called the “Operation Grand Slam” and a Smoked Portabella Panini on Focaccia will be available to complement a selection of beers, wines, champagne and martinis (shaken, not stirred).
Gates open at 6 p.m. for the free event. Couples and friends are encouraged to bring a blanket and find a spot on the lawn to enjoy the film. No outside food or beverages are allowed, and no pets are allowed.
