Programs are designed to actively promote your child’s natural sense of creativity and discovery with fun learning experiences in the unmatched setting at Birmingham Botanical Gardens!

Let's celebrate your favorite American Girl characters with daily creative art projects, music, stories, nature walks, and homemade snacks as we explore the beauty of The Gardens.

Growing through Yoga
For children entering grades 5K-6
Instructor: Annie Damsky, Owner of Villager Yoga

Go on a yoga adventure in The Gardens as we grow like trees, flowers, butterflies and other garden creatures. We will build strength and balance in yoga poses inspired by the landscape and architecture of The Gardens while calming and focusing our minds with nature walks and meditations. Yoga games and special crafts like bubble snakes, herbal sugar scrubs, garden dream catchers and more will round out this unique camp that will leave you feeling joyful and refreshed. Healthy snacks included!

Young Builders: Legos in the Landscape
For children entering grades 1-3
Instructor: Jenifer Harper, M.A. Early Childhood Education

Explore The Gardens from an architectural point of view. Discover structures including bridges, sculptures, plants and animals. Our discoveries will inspire us to build using legos. Art and nature crafts included.

For children entering grades 5K-2
Instructor: Katie Kovalsky

Chefs, let's travel The Gardens to visit five countries in five days! We'll discover new places while we mix up tasty treats from around the globe! Paint an apron, create a traveler's cookbook and plant a mini kitchen herb garden to take home so you can enjoy cooking all summer!

A classic garden favorite returns! Explore The Gardens’ habitats along with a world of insects through “buggy” art/nature projects and much more! Limited to 15 children.

Camp BBG: Young Naturalists
For children entering grades 5K-2
Instructor: Ashley Harper, M.A. Elementary Education, National Board Certification/Middle Childhood Generalist

A favorite BBG Camp is back! Explore our many habitats at The Gardens from Alabama forests and wetlands to our tropical treasures in The Gardens' Conservatory! Nature crafts, special snacks, and art will be included! Each camper will receive an Alabama field guide and earn a BBG explorer patch!

The Gardens becomes a runway of inspiration for botanista fashion trendsetters! Design and create accessories with patterns, dyes and fragrances found in nature while learning about fashion through the centuries.

Ahoy! Pirates & Mermaids
For 4 and 5 year olds entering fall preschool programs

Discover faraway lands ashore and collect a scavenger hunt treasure trove of art, crafts, literary lore, and science explorations while walking the plank of fun n’games! Limited to 15 children.
