Charlotte Moss has developed a signature style, and with it a design philosophy – which is to live passionately, decorate luxuriously, entertain beautifully and always maintain a sense of humor through it all.
During the span of her interior design career, Charlotte has written seven books and has designed collections of china, fabric, carpet, decorative accessories and home fragrance. While Charlotte draws her inspiration from her extensive travels, avid reading and the legacies of great women of style, she attributes her Southern heritage as the most significant contributor to her own personal style.
Charlotte’s most important work is her community service and philanthropic interests. Charlotte serves on several boards of important charities, including The Thomas Jefferson Foundation- Monticello, the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology, the New York School of Interior Design, Bard Center for Graduate Studies, the Bone Marrow Foundation, and has been the co-chair for the UNICEF Snowflake Gala for the past five years, helping to raise millions for the worlds’ neediest children.
Charlotte has received many awards for her work. Most recently, in June, Elle Decor named her one of an elite group of “A-List” designers. She also received Elle Decor’s Vision Award in December of 2009. She is among the top twenty design icons, according to Traditional Home magazine. And in October, Charlotte was honored with the 2010 Timeless Design Award, given by the Royal Oak Foundation, in recognition of her work in design, historical preservation and philanthropy.
